Marooned! (more of less)

"Pretty good"

date: August 12, 2006

Just came across this as it was linked as 'another decent scoring submission' when I voted a movie I'd already done today. Surprising, seeing as it didnt actually score that well.

But I like it a lot and thin it should've scored higher. Great graphics, intriguing plot. Just let down a bit by the absense of sound and the ending that i didnt get,

Nice work, just off to see if ou;ve made anything more recently...

Mouse fx 2

"Funky"

submission: Mouse fx 2
date: August 12, 2006

Pretty impressive stuff, and fun to play about with. The graphics were great and went perfectly with the music.

Few suggestions:

-Just a basic counter in the bottom to show which effect you're on. I think I counted 40 effects here, it could just say 21/40 or whatever effect you're on.

-Maybe a chocie of background would be good here and add replay value. I mean if you had 25 backgrounds that's 1000 different combinations, which'd keep people busy for ages!

-To save the need for keyboard, maybe clicking the mouse could move to the next effect?

-Colour change seemed to be random, I like that, but maybe there's could also be a a button to instantly change the colour.

Good Flash though, 8/10.

tnx for the suggestions!

Everybody has to start somewhere, technically this wasn't bad at all. Try a more original idea with some more exciting graphics and you could do alright here at NG.

Caught it under judgement, how excited am I. I really liked this one, the sound effect at the end was hilarious.

That's pretty much all I've got to say cause I'd just be repeating what I put for the others. Congrats on getting a collection, now I have somewhere to link to for showing people how cool these are. Make lots more!

"Best NG Point n Click"

date: August 4, 2006

I love Point n Clicks, and this was the best one I've played here at NG. I enjoyed the first one and have been looking forwards to this, it was better than I'd hoped.

The graphics were brilliant, really nice job there. Plus the sound was good too, very atmospheric, even scary at times.

The thing I liked about this is that although it was very hard the puzzles weren't random. I don't like these games where the actions are so random that some puzzles are impossible without a walkthrough. I only needed a walkthough once here, because I couldn't see the door that led to the room where you place the coils.

I lot of these games rely on very hard-to-spot things, thankfully you didn't rely on those. But I still don't think you needed to disable Tab finding.

The real videos gave this an extra something. They show extra effort.

Overall, I love it, can't wait for part 3!

TooF Fassabowl!

"*thumbs up*"

submission: TooF Fassabowl!
date: July 31, 2006

I've reviewed all the Toofs so far...now I'm doing this one...

The movie wasn't the best yet. That'd be 5. Or 3. What happened in 4 again? Maybe 4. But this was still pretty good. Bit too random, namely the end. Plus no afro dude, it's not the same without the afro dude.

What I did like was the new menus n stuff. The review replies was pretty funny. Plus your site rocks, thanks for the wallpaper (but you need a bigger one, looks all stretched on my big monitor).

Good stuff...keep at it

EXPGEN

"Brilliant idea and well made"

submission: EXPGEN
date: July 30, 2006

I love this, it's very well made and offers endless hours of playtime.

The editor is quite easy to use, could be a bit easier though. I didn't understand why you had to keep opening the menu, the stage could just be a bit taller and all the options could fit underneath. Here are a few suggestions for future versions (which you must make!):

-Graphical import option. E.g, someone can upload an image to photobucket then the game can read it. Having a small selection of graphics limits what this is capable of.

-Shooting option, would really broaden the type of games possible.

-Cookie saving of levels (I think most people wouldnt bother saving text files).

It's a great little flash, but I reckon there's still loads of room for improvement. Still 5/5 as it is though, nice work.

Carrot boy pt 2

"Carroty"

submission: Carrot boy pt 2

You were right, this one was funnier than the last one. But it was shorter, and most of the movie is exactly the same as before. You could've at least jazzed up the building at the start cause that looks craptacular. Still, not a bad little movie. 7/10.

Gravoor Perfect

"Pretty good"

submission: Gravoor Perfect
date: July 29, 2006

A really good game. Graphics were excellent, always good to see some (swift?) 3d. Had a clean, lively style to it.

Msuic, whilst not bad, really needs an off button. As with a lot of people I prefer to listen to my own music whilst playing games.

Best bit here was the level creator. It's something I'm trying myself on my next game. I think it adds an extra level of interactivity.

My main problem here lies with the game itself, I just found it a little irritating. Maybe it was the movement, nice and original, but navigating small passages got frustrating. I think maybe this just isn't my type of game.

But still, great job on this, shows some real game making talent. 5/5.

Carrot boy Pt 1

"Kick...Ass"

submission: Carrot boy Pt 1
date: July 29, 2006

Pretty funny stuff, I like it.

Suggestion #1 - The building at the start looked terrible. First impressions are very important if you want people to score you highly. Put extra time in the first few scenes.

#2 - Don't use plain text on buildings/vehicles, draw it yourself or at least find a better font.

The graphics were pretty good mostly though, and the sound grew on me. Love the concept & plot. Keep it up.

Author's Response:

Cheers! Yeah, i wanted it to look as tacky as possible, you know how batman and robin used to look? But part 2 has a little more animation and is alot funnier! Will upload that asap, and then ive got a good idea for part 3. Thanks for the support.
