its a dress-up...

As far as dress-ups go, it was pretty good. Clean graphics, lots of clothing etc etc

But I don't think I'm alone in finding dress-ups verrrrry pointless. I can't see why anyone would spend more than a minute on this.

So this shows a lot of talent and I gave it 3/5, but try and make something more worthwhile next time.

Sewer-Ratty responds:

Yeah well at the moment i am sticking to small projects but i may just get around to doing something more worthwhile at a later date.

Great idea

I really like the idea, these kind of games can do really well.

But as it stands, this game didn't offer much. I think you should make it into a series of mini-games, aiming fun when you go to the bathroom etc.

Also there could be puzzles, like for ordering the pizza you need to find the pizza delivery card (hidden under a rug?) and a poking stick because your fingers are too fat to dial.

Also you should be able to replay from levels when you lose. And the objectives could be at the bottom so you can see when you've completed them.

Make more please! I'll be looking forwards to it.

Loomkind responds:

thanks for all the ideas , and I will probably make more...

Really good

This is very similar to the game I just made (and the sequel I'm working on). And to be honest I see no reason why it's scored lower.

I love the graphics, they're clean and colourful. The SFX were excellent and added some humour value, although a bit of backgroud music would have been nice.

The main problem for me was that the monkey moved a little too slow, and I levelled up quite a bit but he didn't seem to get significantly faster. Also you could add a bit of perspective to the background and add some more fruit like bananas (just for variation).

It's a really well made game though, well done.

dodecagon responds:

He wasn't supposed to get faster, but he does now! Thanks for the suggestion :) Weird how you couldn't hear the background music, there were three tracks in all.

Great idea!!!!

I love that idea!!! Please make more, or I'll steal it ;)

Trouble here was that there weren't enough instructions. At first I put names instead of text. Also it wasn't very long. But graphically it was great. Pleeease make more!!

BlueEyeZombie responds:

Don't worry, I'll make more, and they'll be longer and more interactive. This one was sort of a test for myself to see if I could pull off such an open-ended format and have people actually enjoy it. Thanks for the compliments!

Standard shooter?

I've been voting on this game daily for weeks, so I thought it time to add a review.

It's fantastic. The pure scale of the enemies, the speed of play, the amazing effects + so much more.

But...I still class this game as a Standard Shooter. You have a ship, you shoot stuff, collect power ups. Although every aspect of the game is created perfectly with loads of effort, there's still nothing here that strikes me as original.

So is it deserved of 1st place? Maybe. It's got all the instant enjoyment factor to get a top score. I just feel that no.1 should be something really special, and this doesn't blow me away.

Go0gley responds:

The main reason I think why the score is high is because there are three difficulty levels, plenty of length to the game, and the save feature, so addicted players come back often and perhaps give me another 4 or 5. :) Next time I'll add a high-scoring system to hook back even more players, but meanwhile, thanks for reviewing!

Needs more

The physics here are excellent, and so are the 3d graphics. It can be fun for a couple of minutes but then gets very boring, its not hard to shoot at full power and 45 degrees.

This game really needs a lot more added to it, maybe some kind of targets to hit? It'd be great if you could angle your shot left and right, I imagine that would be very hard to make though.

VENGEANCE-GGG responds:

The physics aren't that great. They're exactly the same as the ones I used for the arc of the arrows in Invasion 4: The Last Crusade (Namzorg of Stick Slaughter made that script for me) - all I did was change the x value to a z value and adapt the values being passed to it for the new engine.

I guess I could add targets, or hoops to shoot it through... but this was just a little experiment, not a full game (as you've probably guessed). I used one of the 3D tutorials from Kirupa.com, and the script I used is very flexible - adding left and right shot angles would be extremely simple. The script would be almost exactly the same as the one used for angling the shot's arc, with just a couple of variable names swapped over.

enjoyable game

That was a really fun game with some great physics. I reached level 11, then couldn't get any further. Suggestions:

-Better planet graphics, craters and stuff
-More variation, maybe some moving obstacles
-Something to do whilst the comet flies, a slight nudge ability for example
-Few faint stars in the background
-Cookie saving system, so players can come back and play from where they left off.

It's a fun little time waster, perfect NG material. Keep up the good work.

Eminent responds:

So many great suggestions! I played around with better graphics, but I though it looked nice with a consistent theme.

There is a save game option in the menu (which I admit is a little difficult to find). Look at the bottom right.

Thanks to everyone for the great reviews so far!

Too buggy

-Much got cut off the edge of the screen such as the music controls
-Play button didn't work properly
-Dull background
-Some clothes didn't fit

Graphically it was pretty good and the clothes selection was decent. Adding backgrounds would be the best thing you could do to this. Also, compress the sound better, this dl didn't need to be so huge

Definitely one of the better dress-ups, but for such a dull and common concept it really needs something extra to stand out from the crowd.

Shadow-Kaznama responds:

Ok ...

Nice idea...

...but you could just hold down the left mouse button and be immune to the walls. Oh dear.

Fix that major bug, add more levels, throw in some cool effects & sound, could be good :)

Explizit responds:

really, bugger.. i mean bug yer ill fix it ;)

Shows promise

This needs *a lot* of work but I liked what was here. The colour selector is good, and the graphics were simple but clean and colourful. It controlled quite well. Here are some suggestions:

-More customization other than colour
-In-game SFX
-About 5 courses, and they should be separate (ie you shouldn't have to play them all until you return to the control panel)
-More interest to the courses- trees and the like.
-Also add obstacles such as oil spillages.
-Winning a course should earn you points for upgrading the car. If I made this I'd have it so each course has bronze/silver/gold times to beat. At first you can only just get the bronzes, but after building up you can get the golds, and when you vget all the golds you get a congratulations screen.
-Better turning at 0...first time I played I put it all on acceleration and had to restart because I could hardly turn at all.

Well that's all I've got, hope you can use some of those. Good luck for future efforts :)

Kyle-McHatton responds:

Ma favourite review so far thanks for the great ideas... i think it will be a while before i finish the next version but it currently has a choice of 3 cars, more colours and tracks... so when i am down i will post it
